On October 7th, his 21-year-old son Yaron Oree (Noni) a combat fighter in a special unit of the IDF fell during a heroic combat protecting Kibbutz Kerem Shalom and saving the civilian population of the border community. In memory of Yaron and 1400+ other victims of the Hamas attacks and atrocities of October 7th, Izhar Shay has launched Next October, an initiative to develop 1400 startups to solve important problems (www.nextoctober.org) while exhibiting optimism and resilience.

Izhar Shay is a Venture Partner with Disruptive AI, an early-stage deep-tech VC focused on AI investments. Shay is actively involved with a number of innovative companies as an advisor, board member, and mentor for CEOs and entrepreneurs. He also volunteers as the Chairman of Darkenu, an NGO which also operates DemocraTV.

Aviv Grafi, the President of EO Israel will discuss the status of the EO Israel chapter and the impact of the ongoing conflict on members.

Host by Galit Bar-Tal, a member of EO Israel for seven years and former chapter president. She is the Co-founder and CEO of Sycamore/Big Wipes, the prominent Industrial Wet Wipes brand in Europe. Galit, a mother of three, has a son serving as a combat soldier in the reserve army for the past three months.
